At Home-Wizard.com, we believe that if we can make routine home maintenance more interesting for you, and even a little bit funny, that it will help encourage you to do more of your recommended routine maintenance tasks. And as a result, it will help you to save more money on energy, improve your safety, help you to avoid costly repairs, extend the service lives of your appliances, and maintain your home’s appearance and value.

This is why we brought together a group of very talented students from the Film and English departments of Brandeis University, and gave them a challenge: how to make learning about home maintenance more entertaining? And after numerous creative brainstorming sessions, "The Not Ready For Housework Players” were born and have begun work on creating Video Clips and other enhancements to the Home-Wizard.com interactive home maintenance website.

			Hi, I’m , and I’m currently a sophomore majoring in English & American Literature with a minor in Film Studies at Brandeis University. I guess being a native New Yorker, I’m naturally attracted to challenging situations. And figuring out creative ways to make home maintenance entertaining is right up there with getting a downtown cab during rush hour on a rainy day. I'm finding that the experience of working with Home-Wizard.com is helping with my creative thinking process, as well as stirring up plenty of fear in me about home ownership. After college, I plan to stay in New York and pursue a career in writing and film.


			Hello, I’m . I’m currently a junior majoring in English and minoring in Film Studies at Brandeis University. I’ve served as an editor for Brandeis’ satirical newspaper, am president of Brandeis’ filmmaking club, and I also draw a weekly comic strip for the campus newspaper. When Marianna encouraged me to join Home-Wizard.com I was intrigued by the challenge of somehow making home maintenance more interesting. As someone looking to pursue a career in comedy, I almost felt like it was a challenge that I could not resist.


			Hi there. I’m , and I’m a junior majoring in English & Creative Writing at Brandeis University. My first impression of Home-Wizard.com was that while it had a lot of valuable substance, it was a little on the "dry" side and needed to be given a more friendly tone to better engage its readers. Working to make learning about home maintenance more fun attracted me because although I have a great deal of experience on the creative side of things, this offered me a chance to write with practical application in mind, and to exercise my skills in writing toward specific goals. And given my involvement in the theater on campus, I'm excited to help produce the video clips that will now be a feature of Home-Wizard.com. After graduation, I'll be very interested in pursuing writing as a career, and I'm up for all manner of new and interesting writing challenges. I'm originally from Allentown, Pennsylvania, and will be living and working in New England for the near future.
