Water Bed Maintenance

To maintain the safety and useful life of your water bed, it is important that your home maintenance program include the proper care for your water bed.

A water bed consists of a vinyl mattress that is filled with water, and rests inside a wooden frame which supports the bottom and sides.  A safety liner is in place to catch water in event of a leak.  Some people use a water bed heater to keep the water bed at a comfortable temperature.

Shown below are the recommended routine maintenance tasks for your water bed.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS from "Ask-the-Wizard":

QUESTION from SANDY KLEINHENZ on 3/30/2008:

SELF-CLEANING MATERIALS TO USE FOR CLEANING WATER IN WATERBEDS......AMMONIA,PEROXIDE?????

ANSWER FROM HOME-WIZARD.COM ON 3/30/2008:

Dear SANDY KLEINHENZ:

You should add "water conditioner" to your water bed every six months to keep the water in your water bed from causing problems such as algae growth, etc. Contact your local water bed dealer to find a product that is especially designed for your particular type of water bed.

Hope this is helpful.
